Final Animation

Final Walk Cycle and Failed Action Script

This is my final walk cycle in which I animated the character with no feet. By using strong stokes instead of a normal lines, it created o more dynamic walk. I looked at insects and how they walk, but mostly how a spider walks(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE2QPYKju04). By adjusting the torso and head of the character forward, the walk cycle looks better. It captures a more hurried walk, and gives better insight into the characters motivation.

The action scripting did not work properly, as I forgot to delete an empty scene that causes the flashing.

Background Design and animation

The background is going to be alive in my final animation, so I have decided to use 'Squash and stretch' to better capture the pulsating black and white area. This test was made to help me understand what motions will need to be animated.

Adding feet

I decided to add some feet to my character, to see if it would animate any better. Adding feet seemed to work, but changed the character's look. The lack of feet is more sinister and fits in with the disability idea. The use of strokes was just a way of showing the character was moving along, yet it seemed to work very well. The business really allowed for a more depth and added some abstract surrealist qualities.

Failed Walk Cycle

This walk cycle did not seem to work very well at all. I think that it was to do with the legs needing feet to ground the character. The legs are also too thin, and don't give the character any weight. The character also seems to be walking too fast, which only adds to the overaall negativity.
