Black and White FIlms






Ever since I played Mad WOrld, I have had an obsession with the beauty of black and white. This only grew when watching Orson Welles Citizen Kane for the first time. I was completely blown away by the sheer amount of passion and atmospher in Citizen Kane, that I instanly wante to watch more and more older films. The simple fundamentals of film shined more in black and white. Lighting for example was more of a tool to create atmosphere than to make the actor look better. I watched many more black and white films, such as Tim Burton's Ed Wood, Seijun Suzuki's Branded to Kill and F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu. All of these films cemented black and white cinamatography over the films of today.
