To create the mask, an image had to be opened first and then a new layer above the image layer. In this new layer, the shape was drawn and then the mask option was selected. The mask worked successfully, but the next part failed. A button was attempted to make the mask reveal the underneath picture. As this was my first time using action scripting, I should have used the Script Assistor, which would have simplified the scripting. Overall I am happy with the mask.
